Happy Thursday! If you missed yesterday’s email, you can read it here.

💡 As a reminder since it’s Christmas week, we’re memorizing a short verse and only sending 2 emails this week (today is the last one) instead of our normal Monday-Friday emails.

We’ll resume our normal schedule on January 7th and 8th.

📧 In today’s email…

  • 📖 The cosmic choir

  • 🎉 2 practical responses to Psalm 150:6 this week

  • 📚️ 5 things to help you learn, study and praise

  • 🔦 A tool helping churches get more done in less time

The Cosmic Choir 🌎️

The kind of praise Psalm 150:6 calls us to transcends time, cultural and geographic borders.

Throughout Scripture, we see different parts of creation praising God…

Earlier in the Psalms, we join the sky in praising God…

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Psalm 19:1

In 1 Chronicles, we join all the earth..

Sing to the Lord, all the earth!

Tell of his salvation from day to day.

Declare his glory among the nations,

his marvelous works among all the peoples!

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,

and he is to be feared above all gods.

1 Chronicles 16:23-25

And finally, in Revelation, we see an echo of the kind of praise Psalm 150 is talking about..

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb

be praise and honor and glory and power,

for ever and ever!”

Revelation 5:13

It can be easy to forget that when we praise God, we are joining:

  • a long line of God’s people who have gone before us

  • all future believers who put their faith in Jesus, and

  • all of creation - the entire cosmos

🤔 Remember that we are joining a choir, not singing a solo!

Two Practical Ways to Respond 🏃‍♂️

Here are 2 practical ways to engage with people in response to Psalm 150:6 -

  1. 🙌 Praise the Lord: Next time you’re with a group of believers at church, out to eat or simply hanging out together, have everyone go around and share:

What’s something you recently experienced that makes you want to praise God?

  1. 🔈️ Engage a nonbeliever: Talking to non believers about anything spiritual can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to. Often, the best thing to do is ask open-ended questions and listen.

Something you can ask is: Have you ever had a moment where you felt an unexplainable sense of awe? Tell me about it. What do you make of that?

Put one of these two things above into action over the next few days (and let us know how it goes)!

Highlighting a community member 📣

Michael Whittle is the founder of Pulpit Press.

In a nutshell, Pulpit helps local churches turn their sermons into resources to disciple their people during the other 6 days of the week.

So instead of spending hours of prep time for a sermon and only getting 45 minutes of discipleship content for the people who show up to church that Sunday…they also (automatically) get things like:

  • Devotionals

  • Small group discussion questions

  • Audio and video clips for social media

  • Blog posts, emails, articles, courses

  • Sermon notes

..all at the press of a button.

So if you work a church or know someone who does, check it out here. Churches who sign up by the end of the year get the lowest price they’ll ever have.

p.s. We didn’t get paid to say this. Michael has been a supporter of Malachi Daily since day 1 and we’re grateful for the work he’s doing to serve the church, especially smaller churches that don’t have huge budgets or teams.
