To Recap 🔁
Let’s review what we’ve covered this week in Psalm 1:
Psalm 1 is a wisdom psalm that ties into Torah and sets the tone for the entire book.
When we read words like “meditate,” we see that if we want to be like the righteous man, we must pursue and know God’s law and way with devotion and delight.
It shows us what characterizes the blessed man — more than happiness, it’s:
Pure enjoyment of God’s special favor, grace and presence
Inner peace, happiness, and joy that is not affected by circumstances
To kneel in submission and full surrender before God
The writer uses verbs and imagery to make his point:
Walking, standing, sitting.
Tree, stream, fruit, chaff, wind.
And finally, Psalm 1 points us to Jesus as the True Blessed Man.
We know Jesus Christ and the LORD to be one and the same, so when we read:
“…the LORD knows the way of the righteous…,”
— we see Jesus as THE blessed and righteous One.
And throughout Jesus’ life, ministry, death and resurrection, he shows us what it means to bear the image of God in all its fullness, as God originally intended back in the Garden.
Jesus perfectly embodies what it means to be blessed and righteousness.
3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Apply and Respond: Am I Living My “Blessed” Life? 🤔
Take a look back through your reflections from this past week.
How do I point others to Christ through my words and actions?
Who in my life demonstrates blessedness?
We know that in order to walk in the way of the Lord, we need wise counsel through:
God’s Word
Wise brothers and sisters in the faith
Which of these two areas needs more focus?
Take Action 💪
Once you’ve reflected on your entries this week, take these steps:
The next time your external circumstances don’t go your way (bad interaction at home or work), take it as an opportunity to press into being blessed…
🤔 Ask: If I completely surrendered to the work of the Spirit in me right now, how would I respond?
🗣️ Encourage the blessed people in your life: Get in the habit of telling people when they are a blessing to you.
📖 Prioritize a daily meet-up with God and His Word. Instead of focusing on gaining intellectual knowledge, focus on delighting in His presence.
Pray 🙏
Lord,
There is truly no one like You. Your power is mighty, Your justice pure, Your mercy never ceasing, and Your grace unwavering. Your wisdom surpasses all things that man can achieve or comprehend — and yet You share it with us through Your Word.
I pray that Your Spirit would empower me to pursue You with delight, and that others may receive what I say and do and be pointed to Your Son.
Amen 🙏

Answer key ✅
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
