Happy Monday, {{first_name | everyone}}!
Itβs another week in Godβs Word and today we are exploring a new book for Malachi Daily β Esther.
If the full verse is too long for you to memorize this week, you can focus on just the last part of the verse:
And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

MEMORIZE π§
For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish.
And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Esther 4:14
CONTEXT π
The book of Esther is one of the most unique stories in the Bible.
I donβt know if you're aware of this, but Godβs name (Yahweh in Hebrew) is never mentioned. Not once.
Yet every part of the story is filled with βcoincidencesβ that point to Him working behind the scenes.
Hereβs the big picture:
Esther is a young Jewish woman living in Persia, far from her homeland.
Through an unlikely series of events, she becomes queen.
Her cousin Mordecai saves the king from an assassination plot.
Then the villain, Haman, convinces the king to issue a law to wipe out the Jewish people.
At first, it looks like the end of the story. But this book is built like an βXβ (a literary design called a chiasm).
The first half goes downhill with bad news, threats, and danger. Then, in the middle (chapter 6), the story shifts. Haman is humiliated, Mordecai is honored, and Godβs people are rescued.

The Festival of Esther | Edward Armitage (1865)
Right at the center of this tension comes Esther 4:14. Mordecai challenges Esther with these famous words:
βAnd who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?β
This is the heartbeat of the whole book.
Esther wasnβt the queen by accident. Her position was part of Godβs hidden plan.
And this week, I encourage you to reflect on your position and how it might be part of Godβs plan.
APPLY AND RESPOND πββ
Letβs make this practical:
π Read Esther 1β4 this week. Notice the βcoincidences.β Ask yourself: How does God seem to be working behind the scenes?
π Memorize Esther 4:14. Choose if youβll be memorizing the full verse, or if you want to focus on the last part. Write it on a sticky note. Put it on your bathroom mirror. Say it each morning.
π‘ Ask yourself: Where has God placed me βfor such a time as thisβ? At home? At work? On my team? In my friend group?
π Pray
Father, thank You for working even when I canβt see it. Help me to believe my life isnβt random. Show me today how You want to use me right where I am, for such a time as this. Amen.
SONG OF THE WEEK π΅
Pay-it-forward subscribers, enjoy the song we created below to help you memorize the verse of the week!
It looks like you donβt currently pay-it-forward. If youβd like to, you can do that here.
Iβve been jamming to this song by Brandon Lake on worshipping God anywhere.
Even if you have to praise in prison or pray in βthe battle,β God is worthy of our praise.
I canβt think of a better song of focus and worship as we work through Estherβs story.
