TOGETHER WITH SOUL CARE
What’s the one thing I can do to take care of my soul?
If you’re like me, you might not even know where to start to be able to answer that question. Fortunately, our friends at Soul Care created a free Soul Health Assessment.
I just took it a few weeks ago and it was seamless. Here’s how it works:
Take the assessment: Answer a series of anonymous questions to assess how your soul is doing in a few core areas of life
Get your results: You’ll receive simple next steps toward greater health and wholeness
It’s possible to be faithful with reading Scripture, but still feel weary inside. Soul care isn’t about doing more. It’s about understanding what’s happening beneath the surface, bringing that to God and responding with wisdom.
Join me and start your new year by getting a pulse on your soul’s health.
CONTEXT 📕
Let’s jump right back into the story.
Unable to fight against the force of God’s faithfulness, Balaam blesses Israel on a hill in Moab. Just a few sentences after our memory verse, Balaam says:
The Lord their God is with them,
and the shout of a king is among them.
But the thing is, it will be hundreds of years before Israel has a king..
Is it possible Balaam’s talking about THE king?
In a spontaneous fourth round of blessing, Balaam prophesies, “A star will come from Jacob, and a scepter will arise from Israel” (Numbers 24:17).
Is he talking about the bright morning star, our Christ? (Revelation 22:16)
While many of the prophecies and promises in the Old Testament find a kind of fulfillment before Christ’s arrival (both of these prophecies could be said to point to King David and the golden age of Israel’s history), they find their fullest satisfaction in Jesus.
Jesus who is Emmanuel, God with us. Jesus who is King of Kings. Jesus who is the bright morning star. Jesus who rules and reigns at the right hand of God, the Father.
Jesus is proof that God doesn’t lie. Jesus is proof that God doesn’t change His mind. Jesus is the fulfillment of what was spoken.
Balaam says, “Has he said, and will he not do it?” And Jesus says, “It is finished.”
As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 1:20:
20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.
Jesus is the blessing, and all blessing is in Jesus.
Abide in him, wait in him, and watch God keep His promises.
APPLY AND RESPOND 🏃♂
Numbers 23:19 teaches us that:
God’s word cannot fail
God’s nature cannot change
God’s promises cannot be revoked
Jesus Christ is the ultimate proof of all three. God did not merely say salvation would come — He sent His Son to accomplish it.
In your current season of life, which of the below promises of God do you sense Him inviting you to cling to?
God forgives all our sins in Christ (1 John 1:9)
God gives us new life and a new identity (2 Corinthians 5:17)
God is always with us and will never abandon us (Hebrews 13:5)
God works all things for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28)
God will finish the work He started in us (Philippians 1:6)
🙏 Pray
Thank you, Father, for your son Jesus. In Him, I’m with you. In him, I’m well led. In him, I find love, joy, and peace. Abiding in him is like being planted beside a river – I’m blessed and reminded of your unwavering commitment to your promises. Help me cling to the promises you've made when life is uncertain. Amen.

Wanted: Your Story!
Has Malachi Daily played a role in you putting your faith in Jesus for the first time? We’d love to know! Click here to tell us your story.
Thank you for all you pour into this amazing resource! I have SO ENJOYED Malachi Daily and have been using it to memorize scripture and to bolster my own study time in the word. I just became a paid subscriber because it has become such a huge part of my spiritual growth. My sweet daddy, who was a mighty man of God, went into the arms of Jesus on New Year’s Eve.
I’m sharing that because I found something written in his Bible that I feel pertains to you. It said “A man of God, in the middle of God’s will, will never die until God is through with him”. You are men of God in the middle of God’s will and he is NOT through with you yet and you are touching my life and so many others! Well done faithful servants and HUPOMONE (keep on keeping on) my sweet friends!

I love that you encourage us to seek boldness in sharing the Good News. That's what the early Christians prayed for. We have gotten so me-centered and we only pray about our needs or physical needs of those around us, when our spiritual lives matter so much more. Thank you!

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
