CONTEXT ๐
On Monday, we stepped back to see the big picture of Micah.
We saw a prophet speaking into chaos, calling Godโs people to wake up and return to the covenant they had abandoned.
In the middle of judgment and injustice, Micah offers a clear and timeless answer to the question: What does the Lord want from us?
On Tuesday, we zoomed in on Micah 6 itself.
Itโs a courtroom scene. God lays out His case, not as a prosecutor, but as a Father grieved by forgotten love.
Israel scrambles for religious offerings to make things rightโฆbut God isnโt interested in their stuff. He wants their hearts.
And He gives three simple commands: Do justice. Love mercy. Walk humbly.
On Wednesday, we unpacked four Hebrew words:
โAhab โ to love with deep devotion
แธฅeseแธ โ covenant mercy that sticks around
mishpat โ justice that restores whatโs broken
แนฃฤnaสฟ โ humble, careful walking with God
We also covered a bonus word - the word for โrequireโ is dฤraลก, which refers more to what the Lord is seeking from us.
Finally on Thursday, we connected the dots to Jesus.
Micah named what God seeks. Jesus lived it out.
He didnโt just teach justice, He practiced it. He didnโt just offer mercy, He embodied it. He didnโt just walk humbly, He stooped to serve, suffer, and save.
Micah 6:8 is the heart of God, and Jesus is its full expression.
APPLY AND RESPOND ๐โโ๏ธ
If Micah 6:8 sounded like a spiritual to-do list before, I hope this week rewrote that script for you.
This isnโt a formula for good behavior. Itโs an invitation to walk with God, heart open, hands ready, life aligned.
And if Jesus has fulfilled this verse, then He also empowers it in us.
So what now?
Pursue justice in your neighborhood.
Practice mercy when itโs inconvenient.
Walk slowly (and humbly) enough to stay in step with your God.
This isnโt about doing more. Itโs about becoming more like Him.
So this weekend, ask God to show you one person in your life who needs to experience His justice, mercy, or love through you.
Maybe it's a neighbor facing hardship, a coworker carrying shame, or a friend who's never heard how Jesus walks with us.
Look for one opportunity to share how Jesus has transformed your own walk with God.
