Happy Friday, {{first_name | everyone}}!

Whenever I’ve asked people what their favorite Bible verse is, Proverbs 3:5-6 is among the most common answers. We hope that even if it was a familiar set of verses for you that you gleaned something meaningful!

As Spurgeon said, “Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.”

In today's email…

TOGETHER WITH TEKTONES

Let's Build the Bible!

"O-M-G...thank you, thank you, thank you Dad...can we build this right away?"

Kids (and adults) around the country are sharing reactions like this as they enter the joy of building with Tektones. And it’s exactly what founder William Norvell hoped for.

After helping his son build their third spaceship in a row, he wondered: could we build something more...biblical?

That question became Tektones — premium LEGO®-compatible brick sets that bring the Bible's greatest stories to life.

This Christmas season, Malachi Daily readers get 20% off their entire order (code MD20 applies automatically through the links below).

Check out all three 2026 sets today:

Each set comes with a family devotional and a stop-motion film of the story, so building leads straight into discipleship conversations.

Whether you build your own Nativity set or assemble a blue whale that can actually swallow the Jonah mini-figure, you just might be this year's best gift giver!

CONTEXT 📕

On Monday, our journey with Proverbs 3:5-6 began by studying the most likely author of this proverb: King Solomon.

We walked through the moment in 2 Kings 3 where God gave him the chance to ask for anything…and Solomon requested wisdom so that he could lead God’s people well.

This became the backdrop from which the rest of our week developed.

Tuesday helped us see our verses are from a father addressing his son. We considered this as 1) Solomon speaking to Rehoboam (his son), 2) a teacher speaking to a student, and 3) God as our Heavenly Father who gives us instruction.

On Wednesday, the original language behind the verse helped us understand it better.

We trust God (bāṭaḥ), placing our confidence in him.

We lean on him (šāʿan) with our full weight, relying on him for both rest and support.

And we “acknowledge” him (yāḏaʿ), meaning we know him and consider him in all that we do.

We also saw a sort of prototype of our verse play out in the life of faithful King Hezekiah.

And yesterday we sought Jesus in our verse. We found him as the perfect example of someone who trusted in the Father, leaned on him, and acknowledged him — even in every single word he spoke (John 12:50).

Our search for Jesus revealed that having “straight paths” means aligning our paths with God’s, which brings us to today:

Our verse of this week ends with a promise:

“and he will make straight your paths.”

By combining everything we covered so far, it becomes clear that this is not a guarantee of success or a message of prosperity.

It’s a reminder.

The more we get to know God and submit to him, the more our will becomes aligned with his.

We trust, lean on, and acknowledge him in our every move.

Until it is less of us and more of him.

I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.

  • Look up Bible verses about it or related themes.

  • Pray over it and declare that God’s will be done, not your own.

🙏 Pray

Father, thank you for another week in your Word. Thank you that I have such easy access to it. Don’t let me take that for granted. Help me to remember Proverbs 3:5-6 and carry it in my heart for days to come. I want to trust you with all of my heart. Amen.
