Happy Friday, {{first_name | everyone}}!
I hope you’ve been reflecting on God’s values, not man’s values this week as we wrestle with the truth that true beauty is fearing the Lord.
Let’s wrap up the week!

TOGETHER WITH THE VOICE OF THE MARTYRS
Inspire the next generation through the life of Paul
He hunted down followers of Christ and threw them in prison until one day, on the road to Damascus, Jesus appeared to him in a blinding light. Soon, Saul the persecutor became the man we know as Paul — one of Christ’s boldest apostles.
Paul: God’s Courageous Apostle highlights the life of Paul, who founded many of the first underground churches and was himself persecuted for his faith in Jesus.

CONTEXT 📕
All week, we’ve explored Proverbs 31:30. Let’s review what we’ve learned.
On Monday, we looked at the whole picture of the book of Proverbs.
Proverbs can sometimes feel like a random collection of sayings, but it is actually a carefully shaped work within Israel’s wisdom tradition. At its core, the book answers a foundational question: What does it look like to live well in God’s world?
The answer is spelled out clearly:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge
True wisdom is not about intelligence, success, or status. It is about a life rooted in reverence for God.
On Tuesday, we zoomed in on Proverbs 31, the final chapter of the book.
We saw how the chapter begins with instruction to a king, calling him to justice and righteous leadership. Then it shifts into a poetic portrait of a “woman of noble character” (Proverbs 31:10–31).
This passage forms an acrostic poem with an idealized “A to Z” vision of wisdom lived out and embodied. While the picture reflects a kind of “perfect world” scenario, the point is not to create pressure but to elevate our vision for what truly matters.
The woman portrayed in Proverbs 31’s worth is not grounded in charm, beauty, or status. It is grounded in her character, her actions, and ultimately her reverence for God.
On Wednesday, we examined three key words in Proverbs 31:30, where it contrasts what fades with what lasts.
Charm can be appealing, but it can also mislead.
Beauty is real, but it is temporary.
But what’s actually valuable is “a woman who fears the LORD.”
To fear the LORD is to live with a proper orientation towards God, recognizing that He is the greatest authority…and we are not.
And on Thursday, we connected this theme to the rest of Scripture.
In 1 Samuel, when God chooses David as king, he overturns human expectations:
“For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
God’s standard has always been different and we saw this same truth come to life in the Gospels.
While many disciples fled after Jesus’ death, the women at the tomb remained faithful. They honored him, returned to the tomb, and became the first to know of the resurrection.
They were not driven by status or recognition (the “outward” stuff), but by wholehearted devotion to the one who transformed their hearts.
And Proverbs 31:30 invites us to do the same.
APPLY AND RESPOND 🏃♂
Taken together, this week leads us to one central truth:
Charm fades…
Beauty fades…
Status fades…
…but a life rooted in the fear of the LORD — born from faith in Christ — endures.
From the wisdom of Proverbs 31 to the empty tomb on resurrection morning, Scripture points us to this reality:
God does not value outward appearance, but hearts transformed by His grace.
The women at the tomb witnessed the risen Christ, the One who saves and transforms sinners. And it is those who are united to Him who bear fruit that truly matters.
This week, build up someone’s faith.
Encourage a fellow believer, not for looks or success, but for clear evidence of God’s work in their life. Point out specific ways you see their faith, obedience, or love for Christ. That kind of encouragement strengthens them and trains your own heart to value what actually lasts: God’s grace at work in His people.
🙏 Pray
Lord, shape my heart to value what you value. Help me to see others through your eyes and to encourage what reflects your wisdom in their lives. Use my words to build up, strengthen, and point others toward you. May my life and my voice reflect a deep reverence for you, now and always. Amen.
