Happy Thursday, {{first_name | everyone}}!
It is worth remembering that the invitation you are living inside was extended to people who were nowhere near it. Thursday is our Jesus-connection day — when we follow the verse out into the rest of Scripture and see where it points.
In today’s email…

TOGETHER WITH SEED COMPANY
Think about the verse you held onto the last time you were desperate for encouragement.
Maybe it was "The Lord is my shepherd." Or "Fear not, for I am with you." Or the promise that God works all things together for good for those who love Him.
Now picture walking through that season without it.
That's reality for over 37 million people. They speak 543 languages, and not a single verse of Scripture exists in any of them.
Over 7,100 languages are spoken today and 6.3 billion people have the full Bible, but 1.4 billion are still waiting.
Seed Company is working toward one goal: all of Scripture available, for all people. Click below to watch a video about what Bible translation is, why it’s important and how they're reaching the languages still waiting.
CONTEXT 📕
As we reflect on Psalm 96 with a focus on “the nations” and “all peoples” - it’s worth discovering the impact of the Gospel, globally.
The Old Testament tells the story of a special people, the Israelites.
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Throughout the years that followed, God kept adding people to this group, e.g. “Your God will be my God" (Ruth 1:16)
And when the Messiah finally came, he echoed this message.
Jesus’ ministry was specifically to the Jews (Matthew 15:24) but he sent his disciples to cast a much wider net:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Now we all get to be called the same name: children of God; disciples of Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.
And in Revelation the meaning of “all peoples” become crystal clear in John’s vision of the presence of God where we will gather for eternity:
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…
APPLY AND RESPOND 🏃♂
🤔 Reflect
Isn’t it amazing how God invited you (and me) to become part of this family?
🏃♂ Act
Respond to Jesus’ sending action in the Great Commission we read above (Matthew 28) and take one outward step toward someone this week.
Choose from these options or come up with your own:
Start a deeper conversation with someone you normally have surface-level interactions with. Consider moving from a good conversation to a God conversation to a gospel conversation.
Offer friendship to someone from a different culture than your own.
Psalm 96:3 is a verse about passing something on. Forward this to someone who has something to tell about what God has done.
🙏 Pray
Father, thank you for bringing those who were far away into your chosen people. Please fill me with your spirit this week to be a witness to others who are yet to come into your Kingdom. Amen.

“I volunteer at a human trafficking, rape crisis, and domestic violence center. I have seen about 6 to 8 salvations in the past 12 months. I just became aware that it is the joy of my life each week when I spend time there.”
