Esther 4:14
CONTEXT 📕
It’s been a rich week together in Esther 4:14.
Here’s the journey we’ve walked, day by day:
On Monday we stepped into the world of Esther: a Jewish exile who rose to become queen of Persia.
We saw that in Esther, everything bad in the first half is flipped for good in the second half.
And in the middle stands a challenge: “Who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
We learned that even when God’s name isn’t mentioned, His fingerprints are everywhere.
Your life isn’t random. He is working, even when He seems hidden.
On Tuesday we zoomed in on chapter 4.
We saw the crisis: Haman’s decree for genocide.
We felt the tension: Mordecai begging Esther to intercede, and Esther hesitating because approaching the king uninvited could cost her life.
And we saw that when it’s easier to stay silent, God calls us to step in with courage.
On Wednesday, we dug into the words.
Revach v’hatzalah = relief and deliverance. With our without Esther’s help, God was going to provide a rescue to accomplish his purposes.
Mi yodea = “Who knows?” A humble reminder that we can’t always see the plan, but we can trust the Planner.
Ka-‘et ha-zot = for such a time as this. Not later, not someday - but now.
God’s timing is precise.
Remember that your “ordinary” moments may actually be extraordinary assignments.
And on Thursday, we saw how Esther’s story is a faint echo pointing ahead to Jesus.
Esther risked her life to save her people. Jesus gave His life to save the all people.
Esther said, “If I perish, I perish.” Jesus said, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”
Esther entered the throne room trembling. Jesus entered death itself, so we could walk boldly into God’s throne room with confidence (Hebrews 4:16).
We learned that Esther is a shadow. Jesus is the substance.
The true and greater Deliverer who makes sense of our own calling “for such a time as this.”
APPLY AND RESPOND 🏃♂️
So where does this leave us?
Live with courage. Like Esther, you’ll face moments where silence feels safer. Don’t waste them - God has you here for a reason.
Live with trust. Like Mordecai, believe that relief and deliverance belong to God, even when the outcome looks impossible.
Live with purpose. Like Jesus, see your life not as an accident but as an assignment. You are here, now, for this time and this place.
🙏 Pray
Father, thank You for showing me through Esther that You are always at work, even when You feel hidden. Thank You for showing me through Jesus that rescue doesn’t come through human courage alone but through His sacrifice on the cross.
Help me live with courage, trust, and purpose. Show me today what “for such a time as this” looks like in my life, and give me the faith to walk in it. I love you, Lord. Amen.

ANSWER KEY ✅
For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish.
And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
