TOGETHER WITH MERCY SHIPS
YOU can transform the life of a child today.
They say if you want to make the biggest impact, you must go where the need is greatest. With that in mind, did you know...
Around the world, roughly 5 billion people lack access to safe surgical care.
In sub-Saharan Africa, there are only two physicians for every 10,000 people.
The majority of Africa's populations live by coastal areas.
This is what inspired Mercy Ships, which has two state-of-the-art hospital ships sailing along the coast of Africa that provide free surgery to the most vulnerable children in underserved communities.
Without surgery, Umu's life would be in danger. She was born with a tumor on her neck that began to encroach upon her airway. Thanks to free surgery, she is healthy and thriving today.
But she isn't alone in her struggle.
You can help lift up a child in need. Right now, any gift, up to $10,000, will be MATCHED. Please share your support.

CONTEXT 📕
If you’re like me, at some point Romans 8:28 has led you to ask the question:
How can we trust that all things actually work together for good for those who love God?
And whenever I ask a question like that?
The Lord immediately brings one image to mind: the cross.
On the cross, we see Jesus.
The most innocent being who ever lived, suffering the worst possible injustice ever perpetrated.
So why can we trust Paul’s words in Romans 8:28?
Because God already took the worst event in human history and worked it for our ultimate eternal good.
And just as God was sovereign over the cross, He is sovereign over your life.
God’s purpose cannot be stopped.
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will
And thanks to Jesus…
5 …he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
…suffering will be no more.
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Ecce Homo by Antonio Ciseri, 1871
Romans 8:28 is not a promise of comfort. It’s a promise of completion.
A reminder that it is finished. The work is done. And we have hope beyond the present.
Our ultimate good is not an easy life.
It’s Christ.
And just as God brought resurrection from crucifixion, He will bring purpose from your pain.
APPLY AND RESPOND 🏃♂️
Throughout the life and ministry of both Jesus and Paul, we see a pattern.
Difficulty drove them into further intimacy with God.
Jesus often withdrew to pray. Paul’s hardships increased his dependence on God.
Today, take 5 minutes to write down a situation in your life that is hard.
Then, answer this question:
How might God want to use this hardship to draw me closer to Himself and help me become more like Jesus?
COMMUNITY FEEDBACK ❤️
I love the fill in the blank scripture and the trivia questions. The emails were put together well! Keep up the good work - it has really helped me stay focused when studying God’s Word! God Bless!

The end of week reviews are my favorite! Y’all spend 4 days fleshing out a verse, adding cultural, historical, social, religious context, and you do it so well! Friday is when you wrap it all up and tie a pretty bow on it and present it as the lovely gift that it is! Well done! I share this email with everyone I think would benefit from it. Malachi Daily is a real blessing. Thank you!
